As far back as I can remember music had always been a big part of me. From the moment I wake up to the moment I fall asleep I am playing music as loud as I can. For example: while getting ready, in the car, in class, walking home, doing my homework, writing this blog post right now, the list really doesn't end. My first memory of music was me being about 5 or 6 years old and my aunt Cynthia calling me to go on channel 46 because they were showing the music video to Confessions by Usher and I was as happy as I could be. I vividly remember being around 7 years old when I bought my first cd which was B' Day by Beyoncé and not being able to get home to play in on my cd player. My influence in music came from so many different places. I grew up around many different genres of music. My mom liked Hispanic music, my aunt like R&B, reggaeton (Spanish hip hop) and soft rock, and my uncle listened to rap music. It wasn't until I was older until I realized how much growing hearing all these different types of music in my every day life helps me now. I realize that music has been such a good support system for myself. Sometimes when I'm in a bad mood I think of all the songs I can play that will make me feel better and in minutes I am in a good mood all over again. Some of my favorite car rides are when we don't even talk but duet Listen by Beyoncé for the whole 4 minutes or when me and my friends blast 21 Savage loud enough for the other cars at the stop light to hear us. The older I get the more I also realize as much as I still love all the original 2000's and late 90's love songs and the original reggeaton and there is nothing I love more than Mac Dre and Tupac on a good day, year after year my music selection changes into my own findings of new music and I love it. One of my favorite memories ever is being at the Tyler the Creator concert alone, because I lost everyone I had arrived with, and having the best time of my whole life enjoying every single lyric he sang. Every time I get a new concert ticket I look forward to it for months being so excited to hear all the songs you know and hopefully discover new music! There is unexplainable feeling to me when I fall in love with a new song or a new artist and I'm always so excited just thinking about all the great music I will discover and all the concerts in my future!
